Gia

Haddon Heights, NJ

Is admittedly not the first place I think of when I imagine "fashion photography." I usually picture NYC, Paris, LA, or really any other major city. But when it comes to my work, the location isn't really as important as the subject, and Gia - the model pictured - is truly so fashionable. We worked together at an arts center in Haddonfield for a few months, and I immediately loved her style. So we decided to put together a shoot last minute in a local town and alas... came up with Haddon Heights.
We found it was best to photograph in the places that no one would ever think to photograph, like an ugly alleyway, in front of a shoe repair place, inside of an old train store... the more contrast there was between Gia's vibe and the surrounding area, the cooler the photos turned out. When editing I decided to go with my classic B&W grunge. You'd never guess Gia actually has fire red hair.
