Ange’s Personal Brand Session

Pro Tip: Don't expect a quiet set when the set is an unfinished house.

Ange and I reconnected last year when I moved from NYC to NJ. We got coffee at a cafe on Main Street in Mullica Hill and talked about how much has changed since we last spoke (it had been almost 7 years). A lot of what we spoke about had to do with the vulnerability that comes with starting your own business. Ange is a real-estate agent and has built a community on social media of like minded small business owners. Her content caters to those who want to get into real estate, as well as those who are looking to buy a home, especially those who will be first time home owners.
We decided to put together a content shoot that would capture Ange's personality, and professionalism, something fun and sassy and... anything but boring. Because if you know Ange, you know she is FAR from boring. Ange and I have a history of doing dumb stuff in dumb places at dumb parties and that is something I will not be commenting on any further (we had fun).
For the shoot - we originally wanted to get some shots in an empty house that was up for sale, but with showings going on, the timing just didn't work out. So, to our benefit, and maybe some construction workers annoyance, my Aunt just so happened to be building a home in Mullica Hill, and allowed us to use an empty upstairs bedroom. We arrived to the house with two 8ft rolled up backdrops, a huge bag of clothes, and a ton of other photo equipment. All of which we carried upstairs, only to find a man with a huge saw and pieces of wood shavings flying everywhere, in the room we were to be shooting in. Thankfully, we were able to set up in an adjoining room, and immediately blasted Sabrina Carpenter and Charlie XCX to drown out the noise of table saws and hammers.

Confidence is key,

And after a few warm up shots, the rest of the shoot flowed naturally. I make it my top priority to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. I encourage everyone to find their "badass" energy, something which Ange easily tapped into, which made my job super easy. Being in front of the lens should be empowering, an experience similar to that of a runway show - the stage is yours to take!
After sending Ange her photos she sent me a really sweet message (that may or may not have made me tear up), she said: "I feel powerful in these photos."
That is all I want for any person I photograph, for you to leave our session with photos that make you feel truly powerful, confident, and beautiful!
